We recently sat down with Nick from Wolfpack Drift Club to get the scoop on his slammed 240SX track car.

Model, Year?

1989 Nissan 240sx Hatchback

Why did you decide on this model?

I went with an S13 because it was an affordable chassis with great aftermarket support. I bought my first s-chassis in 2011 and I have been hooked ever since!

When did you get the 240, and what condition was it in?

I purchased this chassis completely stock in 2013. While I was purchasing the car I actually had someone stop on the side of the road and try to start a bidding war, I stuffed the cash in the owners hands, grabbed the title and got the hell out of there! The tag bolts were snapped off and I had the tag dangling on a set of iPhone headphones.

What was the first mod you did?

I threw some coilovers in, welded the diff and used it to beat around the local office parks in the thick of night. I did my absolute best to blow up the KA24E, and it just wouldn’t die! Many nights were spent mashing the limiter in that thing, until I decided it would be best to drive my old coupe straight into the wall. Then the trusty old hatch was called to duty.

What other mods have you done over the course of ownership?

In August 2014 the car was stripped down to the bare chassis and built from the ground up in a period of four weeks. When I crashed my coupe, I decided it would be best to plow ahead at full steam and see how quickly I could get back on track. I went straight to my shop after work every single day, and spent my entire weekends there. Somehow I managed to finish the entire build before the next event, where I managed to show up and take first in the solo competition!

What do you love the most about your 240?

I absolutely LOVE everything about the car, the way it looks, feels, sounds, and drives! The execution of the car is just amazing, down to every little detail. It’s weird because I never meant to drive a hatch, but it was the only chassis I had ready at the time. The more I worked on the car, the more I fell in love with it. Now that it has seen a fair bit of track time it is really getting dialed in, and I am pushing the car to limits that I have never seen before!

What is the most recent mod you have done?

I got the car up to spec for all local competition series. Installed a new roll cage, and completely re-did the battery system. The car will pass tech anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic, and look good doing it!!!

Any future plans?

This car is at a stage where I am just looking to get some seat time, and keep up with the maintenance. I have had it out nine times this year, and it still has some more that I can squeeze out of it before I take it any further. In the mean time I am catching up on some other projects like my S13 coupe and my fathers S14 Kouki. Keep an eye out for what is to come from the Wolfpack Drift Club!
