From Kudzu to tire smoke, Formula Drift Atlanta has been a staple on the run to the championship. It’s officially the most rowdiest event of all the rounds in Formula D and it has earned that title proudly.

I was originally planning on writing a basic editorial about the drivers with interviews but then i realized that my partner on this mission, Jack Stiglitz, had never attended an FD event before, this was his first, so it was up-to me to show him a good time.

Going into the venue on a Thursday when hardly anyone is on the premises, you can take in all the beauty that this place has to offer. If I wasn’t already an annual spectator, I wouldn’t be able to imagine the shear madness that would occur later!

I remember the first time seeing the entry to Road Atlanta and being intimidated and excited by the size of this place. It not a parking lot with cones, this is the real deal!

Formula D Atlanta is a workout. From the evil hill to the pits and the unforgiving southern heat, it is not for the weak! But every year many people like myself come back to see our favorite sport and to rub shoulders with our favorite drivers! The pits are a open market for stickers, shirts, food, and other memorabilia as well as getting the scoop on new aftermarket parts for your car.

This event always throws you a curve ball. I personally watched Moen kill it Thursday and Friday.. but come Saturday night Ken Gushi got his first podium in years.. And Odi Batchkis was the round winner!

Every driver and team put in a solid effort at round 2, next up is R3 at Orlando Speedworld!
